Dazzling stopover in Luang Prabang

This country in the heart of South East Asia is a dream destination to jump into textile crafts of the Hmong and Lao ethnic tribes. You get to discover silkworks with brocades, jacquards, ikat on the Lao side, but also on cotton, hemp and batik techniques, indigo dyeing process, traditional Hmong embroidery ribbons appliqué.

In Luang Prabang, protected city declared Unesco heritage, I was pleasantly surprised to see textile workshops which produce such beautiful fabrics. The textile traditional culture is central to this area.
