Tissus & Artisans du Monde is also interested in French designers and artisans. France is a country with indisputable excellence crafts with areas of reknowned expertise. One can of course refer to the silk from Lyon, lace from Calais or the Puy… but also to Haute Couture craftsmen, as embroiderers, feather workers, pleaters.
With the industrialization and relocation process, certain skills have disappeared and are less and less transmitted. Fortunately, there is a renewed interest in what is called the “Made in France”, highlighted the best way for with living heritage companies, textile studios working for haute couture and decoration, and independent artisans and designers who experiment and develop textile crafts, between tradition and modernity.
